Terms of Service
Last updated: February 2026
Welcome to BarMetrics. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the BarMetrics platform, including our website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Account Registration and Eligibility
To use BarMetrics, you must create an account by providing a valid email address and password. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's consent to use the Service. Coaches are responsible for ensuring that any athletes they invite to the platform meet these age requirements.
You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account, and to update your information as needed to keep it current. BarMetrics reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain false or misleading information.
2. Acceptable Use Policy
You agree to use the Service only for its intended purpose: managing powerlifting coaching relationships, training programming, and athlete performance tracking. You may not use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Harass, abuse, or harm other users
- Distribute spam, malware, or other harmful content
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or systems
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code from the Service
- Use the Service to provide medical advice or act as a substitute for professional medical guidance
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service without our prior written consent
BarMetrics is a training management tool and does not provide medical, nutritional, or health advice. Coaches and athletes should consult qualified healthcare professionals for medical decisions.
3. Subscription and Billing
BarMetrics offers a free tier and multiple paid subscription plans. The free tier allows coaches to manage a limited number of athletes at no cost. Paid plans unlock additional features and higher athlete limits.
Paid subscriptions are billed monthly. When you subscribe to a paid plan, you authorize BarMetrics to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. All payments are processed securely through Stripe, our third-party payment processor. BarMetrics does not store your full credit card details.
You may upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. When you cancel, you will retain access to your paid features through the end of your current billing period. No prorated refunds are issued for partial billing periods.
BarMetrics reserves the right to modify pricing with 30 days' advance notice. Changes to pricing will apply at the start of your next billing cycle after the notice period. If you do not agree with a price change, you may cancel your subscription before the new pricing takes effect.
New paid subscriptions may include a 14-day free trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your payment method will be charged for the first billing period.
4. Data Ownership
You retain ownership of all content and data you submit to BarMetrics. Specifically:
- Coaches own their training programming, including training blocks, session templates, exercise prescriptions, and coaching notes.
- Athletes own their training logs, including set logs, session check-ins, readiness scores, and performance data.
By using the Service, you grant BarMetrics a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your content as necessary to provide and improve the Service. This license ends when you delete your content or close your account.
BarMetrics may use anonymized, aggregated data (from which individual users cannot be identified) to improve the Service, develop new features, and conduct research. This aggregated data does not include any personally identifiable information.
5. Service Availability
BarMetrics strives to maintain high availability, but the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Scheduled maintenance windows may occasionally require temporary downtime, and we will make reasonable efforts to notify users in advance.
BarMetrics supports offline functionality through its progressive web app (PWA) features. However, certain actions performed while offline will be queued and synchronized when connectivity is restored. We are not responsible for data inconsistencies that may result from extended offline usage.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, BarMetrics and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
BarMetrics's total cumulative liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to BarMetrics in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
BarMetrics is not liable for any injuries, health issues, or adverse outcomes resulting from training programs created, shared, or executed through the platform. Users assume all risk associated with physical training activities.
7. Termination and Account Deletion
You may close your account at any time by contacting us or through your account settings. Upon account closure, your active subscription (if any) will be canceled, and you will retain access through the end of your current billing period.
BarMetrics may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before any termination, except in cases of severe policy violations.
Upon account deletion, your personal data will be permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as billing records). Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained indefinitely.
If a coach's account is terminated, their athletes will be notified and will retain access to their own training logs and performance data.
8. Intellectual Property
The BarMetrics name, logo, and all related trademarks, service marks, and trade dress are the property of BarMetrics. The Service, including its design, code, features, and documentation, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written consent.
9. Changes to These Terms
BarMetrics may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you via email or through an in-app notification at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.
